...ya can probably hire all the welding you will ever need done for less than the cost of the equipt and training.

Light or relatively thin sheet metal (18 gage or 20 gage, or a little more thick like 16 gauge (1/16 inch thick)

Would be well suited with a small MIG welder, wire feed.

I figured you wouldn't be welding on anything large, thick, and heavy.

But in the end, if you want independence, get something that will last and BE DEPENDABLE.

Some Instruction: That sir is an excellent idea. I would highly recommend that... You aren;t going to be using this for x-ray weld certification or anything that has to be real pretty. You just need to know HOW to use it and what setting to use for what materials you are welding, and how THICK they are... (even if they are thin)


So you did the right thing. I like the idea.....

I realize in your case this all about survival and being independent... Knowing HOW to weld and USE the piece of equipment would be a great start...
