The issue, of course, is that "blue" states typically have far higher state taxes than do the other states. They justify it to their citizens saying "Yes, but it all gets spent on YOU, and you can deduct it from your federal taxes. In that manner, the rest of the country foots much of the bill of improving OUR state." Which is all true. It's quite a scam.
Trump is ending that. The red states will not be subsidizing blue state programs. Good! If people like their state programs so much, they can pay for the programs themselves and stop mooching off of everybody else.
