Yes, that would make sense. Target is a liberal organization. It's got a far better reputation than K-mart. It would be an excellent base from which Amazon could go after Wal-mart.
On the other hand, just because something makes sense doesn't mean it will happen. One of the big pharmas, especially Merck, really SHOULD have bought Esperion by now, but they haven't. Not yet, anyway.
So, while I think there's an excellent chance that Target will be acquired, the "this year" part of the prediction bothers me. The deal might be two or three years off.
