De, "It's ninety times the price of asphalt. How many years of repaving asphalt roads would pass before China's solar began to make financial sense? ..."

Wonder how it would work out without the solar panels, just using the clear concrete part of the road, which is the strong part. Interestingly, they said the road's 3 cm thick, although I'm not sure if that's all three layers. Incredible.

I wasn't really thinking of the solar, I have my doubts about that working out, although it's cool that they're trying it out. I was thinking more along the lines of the savings to pave a road with strong concrete. I'm not at all familiar with how the stuff is made or how much it costs . . .

It's ninety times the price of asphalt. How many years of repaving asphalt roads would pass before China's solar began to make financial sense? About two hundred. And, unlike China's product, they'd be years free of concern that thieves might slice up and steal the roads.
