Liberals are like a "Slinky". Totally useless, but somehow ya can't help but smile when you see one tumble down a flight of stairs!
Maybe you should try my remedy. Take a tube of paper towels a couple of inches thick and put it vertically on your spine when you're laying down.
I actually got the best results in my recliner, using a memory foam orthopedic pillow. Leaning back a bit seemed to take the pressure off and maybe helped push the disk back into place, if that's possible. Gave me a lot of relief.
