Re: “I mean, Athlons were out in the 1980 era..... ”

That's a bit of an exaggeration. The Athlon debuted in 1999, and others in the Athlon line debuted as late as mid-2010 (the Athlon II Neo). I'm not sure when they stopped being made, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a few years ago. (It seemed like Celerons stuck around forever, and they were hugely inferior to Athlons.)

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

An Athlon processor?

Is ANYONE still using a 20 plus year old processor?
WOW!

You can get one of the latest blazing AMD processors for under $150.00 and several for under $100.00.

Vishera series OCTACORE at 4.3 Ghz, 120 watts, boatloads of memory, around $150.00 For an 8 core blazingfast processor.

I mean, Athlons were out in the 1980 era..... No wonder they don't like MSFT update for their vulnerability... They are terribly slow and prolly cannot handle the volumes of programming data being dumped on it..... Would make sense to me...

Oh well. I just thought I would look into newer AMD processors again ...
