Get rid of chain immigration. I agree on that. Only nuclear family(there’s a caveat on that, though, see below), no one else. Others can try on their own. Chain migration has been abused. A relative, until now, can sponsor someone, and take respondibility for that person’s financial status here, but it looks like it can be abused. Not everyone sponsored is a potential terrorist, but for now, it could be stopped. Maybe in 20 years it can be looked at again. It still won’t stop any of those who killed people here, as tney were kids that grew up here, after they were brought in with tneir families. So, this one is a tough one.
Get rid of lottery system. Agree on that. We need people who come here to want to come here because they believe in it, they want to improve their lives and be part of America.
Border security. Depends on what that entails. Not just a wall, or fixing it, etc., but look at airports, ports, everything, all visas and how they are handled once overstayed. You overstay your visa? You can never get a green card by marrying an American, or getting a job because some high tech wants you. Maybe the only way would be if you agree to serve in the military for 5 years.
As far as border security, we need a “border wall”, and an immigration system around the country, not just on the southern border.
Finally, Trump said he trusts those in the room will come up with a solution, and he will sign what tney come up with, and take tne heat for them. Let’s see if he means it. Let’s see if these assholes were not just posturing for the cameras.
