micro,

I'm not a doctor ... although, I do pretend to be one down at our local Nymphomaniac Treatment Center ... but, I digress ...

It sure sounds to me like it is time to quit ineffectively treating the symptoms and go after the root of the problem, which I suppose means surgery, right? I'm in a professional client service business and I know all about the immediate demands that is part and parcel of such a business ... BUT, it doesn't sound like you have the ability to effectively serve your clients the way things are now, anyway ... SO, in the long run, it sounds like you and your business will be better off to bite the bullet and suffer through the downtime of surgery and whatever recovery time it takes.

Just my two cents.

B.

Good day ma'am!
Today is day morning number 2 after the surgical epidural shots in my spine and other areas.

I was like someone who was OD'd on Tuesday night. Cortisone in high dosage like this will do several things. It will raise your blood sugar level. A lot. So you get all the nice things that go with that like tingling sensations in the arms, the feeling of not getting enough air in to your lungs while trying to breathe, kinda like shallow breaths.

Of course, your mind goes into overdrive wondering what the heck is that? Am I going to have a heart attack?

Well at 3:00 a.m. I am up and eating colby jack cheese with a couple of Breton crackers and drinking some milk to counter act all that cortisone.

It did help. My nervousness slowed down and so did the feeling of shortage of breath after I managed to get more into a sitting up position.
Morning came and I was relieved. That was yesterday.
I discovered, well my wife did, I have 8 shots to the left of the middle of my back about four inches in a path.

Those were also from the injection following the path of the sciatic nerve. Doc was trying to get that thing calmed down. Also have TWO into my spine itself at the L5 level slightly left of center where the PINCH is located. Those were deep shots and yes, I felt them.

Apparently Doc was doing her best to calm down the sciatic nerve pain which is why my BUTT looks like a bunch of chickens were pecking for seed across it.
Sore as can be.

Yesterday I had partial relief but also had times and positions I could not stand or sit in.

THIS MORNING.

Not good.
Back to square one before the procedure. Can't sit, stand, walk, and have shooting sciatic pain running in same places as before as if these injections never even happened.

I am back on 4 Aleve at one time and of course the Gabapentin (which I think does absolutely nothing)

I have scheduled an office visit with the doctor for Tuesday next week to discuss this.

I really see no reason to take another very painful epidural (even though they use lidocaine to attempt to numb the area the injection is going) seeing as this condition I have been blessed with is basically LAUGHING at this overdose of cortoid steroid epidural injection.

WHat would be the point? Two days after this last one I am not one bit better and a second one is not going to change that.

The Sciatic nerve where it is pinched in my spine by a protrusion is the culprit and I think unless and until THAT is remedied, this is never going away and is a waste of money.

So I am back on the too small reclining sofa in the family room, off my feet, trying to alleviate the pain.

Does anyone here think that there is any value in taking another injection?? I simply cannot and do not see anything it would accomplish seeing as this first one has not improved that condition at all, not even a tiny amount.. There is no building block to build on....

I would like to see what some of you all think...
I can't live like this. And I cannot prolong this as I need to get to clients who are waiting on me...

thanks,

micro.... (sorry for length. Just being descriptive to help understanding in order to see where I am coming from with my question regarding a second injection, which simply delays the real fix. imo) Sad
