Every so often, I get a call from an insurance company claiming that it can lower my rates. I tell them I'm with USAA. Their response? "Oh, okay. Thank you then. *click*"
BTW, I've never had an accident that was my fault. I was in a multi-car accident once when I was rear-ended in stopped traffic and the guy at fault turned out to be uninsured. I had uninsured motorist coverage so USAA paid for my damage. (I needed a new bumper).
My wife was sideswiped and her car totalled - but it was, again, the other guy's fault and his insurance covered it.
And we've used USAA's roadside assistance (including towing) several times - due to various breakdowns we've had. That coverage has been a lifesaver. It costs $7 every six months.

ANYONE who has ever been HIT by one of their insured will discover that this company never is easy to work with and the local agents are a holes.
Been thru this twice with State Farm insured drivers who hit me, were cited by police as at fault. Good riddance!
This too happened. I am insured by Met Life Auto and Home.
Drove my new car in 2015 about three months after we got it to a local mall. Parked WAY out. When we came out later I discovered my car had been hit on the reqar and several pieces of plastic on the bumper were torn and scratched deeply into oblivion.
I was sick....
I called Met when I got home and told them what happened.
Next morning a rep calls me from claims, told me to go to anyplace I wanted, but if that happened to be one of their body shops they have certified, the repairs would be warranted for lifetime.
It so happens where I go is the top rated body shop in all of greater cincinnati. Also is one of Met's certified repair shops.
In a few days I had my car back. No problem at all.
