...the way I have always handled it is to report the accident to my insurance company, they take care of the problem and then they work it out with the other insurance company. Let them lawyers argue with each other.

I am going through that now. On our way home from church on Christmas Eve a car ran a red light and took off the front end of my car. The other driver had SF and they want me to take 20% of the balme because I enetred the intersection when the light turned green, even though her car was coming down the street (about 150 feet from the intersection by my calculation) and she wasn't planning on stopping. Allstate (my ins company) isn't backing me up at all.
