4 South Carolina officers shot, leaving 1 in 'very critical' condition; suspect arrested
The man accused of shooting four South Carolina law enforcement officers — leaving one in "very critical" condition — early Tuesday morning was found with several “long guns” and was previously arrested for assaulting an officer, a report said.
McCall’s father-in-law told WSOC-TV said it was “uncharacteristic” for McCall to act violently toward police. A neighbor, Roger Gilfillan, said he was stunned to find out who might be involved.

...apparently "uncharacteristic" doesn't mean what I thought it did.
