Most of the reviews of Hi-Point I've read are positive. What many are saying is that they shoot, they hit what they're aimed at, they're cheap and they're "fugly," whatever that means (fun + ugly, I think.)
Several of the reviewers said something akin to "I would save my money and buy something better -- but they do fill a niche." One said, "It feels like something I'd use when building my deck." Another said, "A burglar who broke in might see the Hi-Point and leave - figuring that you don't have anything good!"
A gun store owner said "We don't carry them. They seem to have problems more often than other brands." So maybe you'll need that warranty.
