Lil' Chuckie Schumer trying to play chicken ... but, he's doin' it ALL wrong. ROTFLMAO!
The Senate on Monday voted 81-18 to break a Democratic filibuster on a government spending bill, clearing the way for Congress to approve the stopgap measure and end the three-day government shutdown.
The Senate still has to vote on the bill itself, which the House would have to consider next. But the show of support early Monday afternoon virtually guarantees it will pass. The measure would fund the government through Feb. 8.
Democrats effectively backed off their opposition, after being given assurances from majority Republicans.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., announced on the floor ahead of the procedural vote that they'd reached an agreement. He said it comes with a commitment to negotiate on immigration, and immediately consider such legislation if there's no agreement by Feb. 8. ...
"A commitment to negotiate," eh? Well, Chuckie ... THAT was exactly what was happening right before you decided to shut it all down for your own political reasons, you infantile dipsh!t. And, if there is no negotiated settlement on immigration issues by February 8, 2018, then it will be voted down and you'll be right back where you started.
Look Chuckie ... you want to mollycoddle people who are in this country illegally simply because you desire their votes ... we want secure borders that provide security for American citizens in their own country and to close the floodgates on the irrational immigration of foreigners who bring nothing of value to our country. So, (1) appropriate - NOT authorize - $30 billion for the wall, (2) permanently end chain migration, and (3) permanently end the visa lottery ... and we'll allow the DACA people who are here now to stay. And ... contrary to my earlier proposal ... just because I'm feeling generous ... you and Dick Durbin don't have to commit ritual suicide in the well of the U.S. Senate. We'll save that chip for later negotiations, don'tcha know.
