Nearly half of the illegals in the country are here on expired visas, the 'problem' is that a large percentage of them are 'white' and therefore some on the Right just look the other way. They interviewed a DACA recipient the other day who was Israeli. His parents brought him here when he was 5 years old. They were here on educational visas to attend graduate school and they just never went home.
When we moved to SoCal 38 years ago, the first illegal that we met, who would actually admit that he was illegal, was from Montreal. A wall on the Mexican border wouldn't have kept him out.
