I always stop on my way across Virginia to view it at pull overs off I-64 and look through the field glasses.
My son in law actually went camping with my daughter and kids up and down the Valley one summer they were off because I told them about the upper and lower valleys and the history and beauty.
There are not many places as scenic as the Shenandoah..
