Yep. If I had been in their place, I certainly would rather have been adequately armed and able to fight Nazi oppression on my own terms. Remember ... it was the action of only a few men on the Old North Bridge in Concord, Massachusetts that became "the shot heard round the world."

I agree. But additionally, it would have had Nazi leaders looking over their shoulders constantly from about 1933 on. Common sense says that a leader tends to be a little less ruthless if he thinks that every step outdoors could well be his last.
