Sounds like it may be on your end DE,,, I have none of those probs. AVG free is not that good and a system hog. Haven't used them in a while.......

Download Ace Utilities. You can try it for free for 30 days. I pay for it. It really keeps the crap off my machine....

Run the wizard when you start. Dont let it delete history. It will wipe all your passwords...

You will see how many registry errors you have......... It will clean them for you...

AND auto start manager will highlight in GREEN or RED anything that was recently installed on your pooter. IT is shocking the crap that goes on without our permission.........

Re: “Are you using the FREE version or the paid version of AVG? ... Good Morning!”

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, micro, but right after posting that message, my wife and I loaded up the car and headed down to Charlottesville to close on the condo. I only got back a short time ago.

Cheapskate that I am, I use the free version of AVG. It does seem to work okay - or, at least, if it isn't working and I'm infected, I'm not aware of it. The worst I can say is that this old laptop occasionally needs a reboot, but it has some issues that I'm pretty sure are hardware related - a flickering screen, occasional lockups, frequent logginess, etc. - so I don't think viruses are behind my system's problem. I actually bought a replacement Windows 10 laptop on Black Friday a year and a half ago and I've never used it except to confirm that it works. That tells you how long this Windows 7 laptop has been on its last legs.

This evening, when I visited yahoo mail and tried to get to the Sent box, I got a different message from yahoo (not AVG) essentially saying "We can't access your files. Sometimes this happens... wait a little while and try again. Rest assured, you'll regain access your e-mails. Meanwhile, you might want to delete all your cookies and temporary files." It was something like that. I gave that a try, doing a disk cleanup to clear nearly all of the junk off of my laptop including the cookies. When I returned to yahoo and tried getting to my sent files folder (the Sent box), AVG kicked in anf issued the same error as this morning! AVG clearly thinks that yahoo is infected with something.
