EXCLUSIVE: Trump tells aides not to talk publicly about Russia policy moves

President Donald Trump agreed to supply weapons to Ukraine to fight Russian-backed separatists, but told aides not to talk about it publicly to avoid angering Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to multiple administration officials.

Trump wants warmer relations with Putin and doesn't want to be seen as appeasing his Russia critics, officials said, but was privately angered by recent Putin's saber-rattling with his new nuclear weapons. "If you want to have an arms race we can do that," Trump told Putin last week, officials said, "but I'll win."
