Mr. Monk,
The Guru at work recommended AOMEI backup software.

If your hard drive does not have that much stuff on
it, it can make a bootable USB stick then one can
create an AOMEI image of it and store it on the stick.

(Then replace the hard drive with a new one, and restore
the image onto it. Leaving the original H.D. intact
just in case.)

I've used it quite a bit where I work.

Freeware too.

P.S. One can also copy disk to disk with it, and
one can create a backup image of a hard disk to
another hard disk.

And, I think AOMEI can also be set up such that it
will automatically back up ones hard drive to another
drive . . .

Here is what I use.
Hiren's Boot CD.

This is a compilation of LOTS of useful software TOOLS that will not only back up your entire hard drive using Norton Ghost, but a hundred others that will allow one to resize their disk partitions, check the condition of your hard drive, system tools of all kinds including memory testers, etc.

I have included a link to Major Geeks to download from a trusted source.

You then need to follow instructions to burn a cd from this file which I believe is an ISO file.

If so, ASHAMPOO is a free cd writing/burning program I use and it will do ISO images and files.

There are instructions available readily on how to make a bootable disk for Hiren's .

USEFUL TOOL.

You boot your computer to this disk and then select the backup programs, and I use Norton Ghost.

There are others to choose from as well.
