It was a commonly accepted theory back when I was copping for a living, that most crimes would go unsolved if folks just kept their mouths shut. Folks have a tendency to brag about their exploits but only tell friends they can trust who only tell folks they can trust and they only tell folks they can trust. As you can see the number of folks who know the secret is increasing geometrically. This was called "digging your way into jail with your mouth". Comey is doing just that. (I hope)
