House chaplain who was forced out withdraws his letter of resignation
The Rev. Patrick Conroy, the chaplain of the House of Representatives who was forced from his post last month by Speaker Paul Ryan, has withdrawn his letter of resignation and wants his job back.
In a two-page letter to Ryan, Conroy said he had never done anything wrong or heard of any complaints against him in his seven years as chaplain. Conroy said Ryan should fire him if he thinks he shouldn't have the post.
