He is 89 with about 5 or 6 years of dementia. Once was pretty smart man. Older he got though the more crotchety and cantankerous he got.
Funny thing is that I am the one person of the siblings that he really disliked.
Now this is some real irony...
I think he may not be in his apartment, which is in a facility, much longer. He cannot remember simple or basic things anymore. Has less and less control and eats less and less when he does eat.
I cannot continue going there daily every morning and making his coffee because he cannot put a scoop of coffee in basket and pour water and turn on coffee maker.
I hand wash his few pieces of dinnerware daily and do his laundry. I cleaned his bathroom yesterday.
I am concerned now though that because he will not drink enough fluid that he really needs to be in assisted living where someone checks on him routinely.
Now I have to leave and take him to a doctor appointment to have a pacemaker checked out...
I didn't want to work anyway..... not...
