Officers Who Used Coin Toss App to Decide Arrest Are Fired
Two Georgia police officers who were caught by body camera footage using a coin-toss app to determine whether or not to arrest a woman who was speeding during an April traffic stop have been fired.
Officers Courtney Brown and Kristee Wilson "engaged in conduct on or off duty which adversely affects the efficiency of the department and has a tendency to destroy public respect for the employee or the department," the City of Roswell police chief said in a termination letter.
Sarah Webb, 24, who was stopped for speeding, said, “These are people who are supposed to protect us, and instead are treating our freedom and our lives like games.”
