Report: At Least 1 New Missile Being Produced in North Korea
U.S. intelligence agencies have obtained evidence that suggests North Korea is building new missiles in the same facility that produced “the country’s first intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of reaching the United States,” The Washington Post reports. Evidence, including satellite photos, suggests at least one “liquid-fueled” missile is being produced at a “large research facility” outside Pyongyang. While the evidence does not suggest an expansion of nuclear capabilities, it does show the country may be producing advanced weapons while the U.S. is attempting to get North Korea to completely denuclearize. Experts described the plant in question to be “active,” with supplies and other vehicles captured entering and exiting the facility on a daily basis in photos. This comes as U.S. intelligence gathered evidence that senior North Korean officials intend to deceive the United States–despite talks President Trump had with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to “work toward” denuclearization.
