In the mid '70s I had a 1972 Mazda RX-3 that had a 2-rotor engine. It looked like a Toyota but was really quick off the line. The only problem I ad was that it got 17mpg and as the price of gas went up I traded it in.

wankel engines actually are very efficient with power distribution that they create. It is very direct.

206 mph in the quarter.

If there was a way to make them more DURABLE and LONG LASTING without the repair bills they would be a viable alternative to the typical combustion engines we have today.

Of course, direct current drive to wheels from a battery is extremely fast also...

Love the wankel, or rotary, engines.....

The RX 8 is nothing to sneeze at in raw speed.. A friend of mine has one.. and it is just a stock...
