FDA approves first generic competitor to EpiPen
The new generic, which won’t carry the EpiPen name, will give people with life-threatening allergies a lower-cost option for a device that can cost as much as $600 for a twin pack. Mylan, which makes the EpiPen, makes a generic version that sells for $150 to $350, and other companies sell cheaper generics. But the new device is the first authorized copy of the EpiPen. The cost hasn't been announced.
