Yes, I agree that the use of eminent domain gets out of hand in our country from time to time, too (e.g., Kelo v. City of New London), but the South African situation is across-the-board violence and theft by government fueled by racist hatred on steroids. It is of concern because it is a prime example of ethnic cleansing for all to see ... something The Bronx Valley Girl should (but won't) come to grips with before she opens her ignorant yap, again ... and a strong invalidation to the silly libtard notion that the hapless victims of all ethnic cleansing are people of color and the ruthless, evil perpetrators are always white males.

As bad as some cases of eminent domain in the U.S. may very well be, we do not beat, kill, and strip broad groups of people of their lands under eminent domain because we find them racially offensive. The United States did do this to native American Indian tribes back in the 1800s, but that, to the detriment of the Indians, was quite simply a war between disparate cultures and nations who were not equal in their abilities to wage that war.

South Africa is a good example of out-of-control, despotic government ... like Zimbabwe, Venezuela, Turkey, etc. ... and the ultimate despair they bring to their citizens. Such lessons should be heeded by one and all, IMHO.

Re: “...and seize assets whenever the mood strikes you?! ”

I don't know why we're concerned with South Africa. if they want to turn the country into a cesspool, that's their prerogative. And it's not like the United States is so innocent when it comes to seizing assets from property owners....
