No surprise - hand in hand with eliminating the electoral college. Mobocracy vs. a Republic. Democracy STINKS - it is dictatorship by the mob.

Anybody ever stop to think that the electoral college ALSO needs to 'go the other way' as Mr. Wizard put it so eloquently ?

The percentage of electoral votes has protecting the individual states has been DRASTICALLY reduced by the explosion in population since the Constitution was adopted. This has dangerously reduced the representation of the 'small guys' against the thuggery of the mobs.

That ratio should be kept THE SAME as it was originally - so increase the number of votes PER STATE (all receiving the same number) reserved for the STATE REPRESENTATION portion of the electoral college. gotta come up with more simple wording that gets the point across quickly.

Won't happen anywhooz - we are already on the verge of armed insurrection if Congress attempts a phony impeachment of President Trump.

As for the States themselves - MOST OF THEM SUPPORT A SUPER POWERED FEDERAL GOVERNMENT because it makes 'tax collecting' so much easier for them - ie. they suckle like 1,000 pound piglets at the federal teat already and get to blame somebody else. The States are pretty much gutless - Texas included *look at how our representatives blocked Article Five Convention of the States vote for such a prolonged time*.

On today's edition of The Daily Daily Caller Podcast, it's a special show - a look at an unreported threat to our republic: the idea of proportional representation in the US Senate.

Listen to the show:

It may sound crazy, but there is a movement among the liberal elite to change the Constitution to have the number of senators from each state be based on that state's population, exactly the way the House of Representatives is set up now. Not only would this be insane, we should be going in the opposite direction. The 17th Amendment changed the way senators were elected - it went from them being selected by the legislators of the states to a popular vote election. This changed the Senate from the voice of the states in the federal government to a body based on the will of the people. Once this happened, the federal government expanded exponentially as Senators worried about appeasing and appealing to the masses rather than protecting the rights of the states. It's time to go back, repeal the 17th Amendment, and return to the idea what we are union of states, not a nation with concentrated power in Washington. After all, the states created the federal government, the federal government did not create the states.
