I know what you mean.
Back when there were about four Star Trek television series all being produced at the same time, I got to where I didn't want to watch any of them. They ALL began creating politically pushy episodes. Whatever was currently in the news got turned into an episode. When there was a problem with 'boat people,' one of the Star Treks did an episode with 'boat aliens' that no planet wanted. If there religious intolerance somewhere, one of the Star Treks had a religious intolerance episode. Naturally they had episodes with underclass aliens who were paid less than others.
They were ALWAYS pushing the liberal viewpoint.
I've been an SF fan since I was in 3rd grade reading 'Danny Dunn' books and 'The Wonderful Flight to the Mushroom Planet.' But I got to where I couldn't stand Star Trek anymore.
BTW, Star Trek Enterprise was a notable exception. I didn't see all the episodes, but the ones I watched were refreshingly different.
