For starters, we now know that Booker's team requested that the documents be cleared for public dissemination, that they were cleared (at about 4 a.m.), and that his team was informed of that fact BEFORE Booker had his "Spartacus" moment.
It was all an act. He knew full well that he wouldn't be kicked out of the Senate.
He also knew that Republicans in the Senate wouldn't know all that by the time the hearing began. He was likely HOPING that they would respond with a threat to boot him from the Senate - to which he would then say "I don't care. I'd give my life for this important cause" - or some other ridiculous hyperbole designed to make him look like a courageous and noble Senator... who would also make a wonderful President.
That's what it's really about - Booker's Presidential aspirations
Of course it didn't work and probably won't generate the contributions Booker wants. He's totally transparent. The man obviously intends to run for President in 2020. Bank on it.
