My daughter is in Virginia Beach like Zim.. What I would be concerned with there is water table if you live just inland from the beach a mile or so. The water table there is very high normally.
Secondly, as my daughter has an old growth forest abutting her back yard pretty close, I am afraid of falling trees. There is a water canal right behind her very short back yard, Trees falling would be a major concern if HIGH WINDS pound that area.

Fortuntely, one of the few times my kids have ever listened to me, she did go purchase a new Generac Generator and had it installed at her house. This way WHEN the electric goes out, and it will, she will have electricity.

She is very near the North Carolina border going to the outer banks. I think her subdivision may get hit pretty good. Concerned dad.....

It looks like the worst of Virginia's rain will be just a little west of Richmond. 15 to 20 inches on Friday! Zimbler isn't far from there. Neither is my son.

My advice to the two of you? Hunker down with with an umbrella, a good woman and a bottle of scotch. (Not necessarily in that order.)
