Re: “'Favorites' can be organized into sub-directories.”
I use Favorites and Bookmarks too and do not consider the menu to be a replacement for them. I have a few gripes about them, though.
First, Most of my bookmarks are places I want to be able to find again but AREN'T places I want to visit often. How many times do I want to pull up The Anarchist Cookbook? Not many - but I want to remember where it is. I have a LOT of things bookmarked. At least a thousand.
For that reason, my bookmark and favorite folders are extremely cluttered. Yes, I can organize the folders so that my frequently visited sites are gathered together, but they'll always involve several mouse moves and clicks. My menu is right there in my browsers as my first tab. It doesn't get more convenient than that.
Second, I use three browsers and two computers. When I start using linux, it'll be three computers. Their respective favorites and bookmarks are NEVER in synch with one another. So I look for things I've bookmarked and can't find them because they are in a different browser or on a different computer.
Third, I've experienced browser and OS upgrades which did not automatically migrate my bookmarks. @#$!
The bottom line is that I find the menu easy. The tedious part was writing it. That's done, so now it's a cakewalk. For me, it works well. Your mileage may vary.
Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months
