Realist - Everybody in America is soft, and hates conflict. The cure for this, both in politics and social life, is the same -- hardihood. Give them raw truth.

Nemo > Well you're different pal. LOL. You doing good with your stuff for sure........

I don't know about good . . .
But I am NOT playing the game 'they' would like me to be playing.
I'm a 'buy and hold' kind of guy. I live for dividend checks.

Dominion, McCormick, and Heinz (till Buffet bought it out from under
me) all payed out the dividends through both the 2000 tech stock
collapse and the 2008 sub-prime meltdown.

(I saw dividend cuts in GE, Pfizer, and Conoco Phillips.)

I also have the bulk of my investments in Direct Stock Purchase
plans. Great for buy-and-hold . . great for 'dollar cost averaging' . .
But lousy for buying and selling like a rabid raccoon. End
result I bought and held some of my holdings through both the 2000 ugly and the 2008 ugly.

You might look up 'Dividend Aristocrats'. They are a bunch of
companies known for increasing the dividend every year - for
over 25 years. Several of my holdings are listed in that elite
grouping.
