Yeah, it made my day. I'm only willling to get so close to the house and cars with my tractor, so this thing will definitely come in handy. Probably soon. Temperatures are already falling into the low 40's at night. (It seems that it sometimes snows when the temperature is 39°... but never 40°.)
At the same yard sale I also asked the guy about a hardware drawer he had that was stocked with who-knows-what. "One dollar," he said. Then his wife piped up and said that there were two more.
Then I found some rubber firemans' boots... the yellow kind. "Free," he said. "Oh, but they're way too big," I said. "You step into them with shoes and all," he replied. And... sure enough, they fit fine.
It turned out that the three best deals of the day were all at that sale, BEFORE we got to the huge sale we'd driven across the state to see. I find humor in little ironies like that.
