I'm sorry he's had a tough time. That has to weigh heavy on you too.

Safe travels & here's to his new journey.

I'm leaving in the morning for Michigan. Our youngest son (40 years old) has decided that he can't afford to live in SoCal anymore and so he wants to move back to Michigan (he was 9 years old the last time he actually lived there). He's had a rough time since he lost his baby daughter seven years ago, and he and his wife just got divorced, so he wants a fresh start but there are too many bad memories here.

Anyway, between his car and my SUV, were moving as much of his stuff as we can. We leave first thing in the morning and hope to make it to the Detroit area by late Wednesday or early Thursday. My brother is letting him use a cottage that he owns, about two hours North of Detroit, until he gets his head straight.

He'll be back in late November and again around the 1st of the year to finish up a private IT job that he has with an old boss of his who's building a new home which will be fully on-line and automated. My son's part of the contract, which covers just the IT portion like the internet, WiFi, integrating the smart devices, like the security and surveillance systems, etc. It does NOT include the multi-media/entertainment systems, that's being done by someone else, but he does have to link up to it. Anyway, his contract is valued at something over $15K plus the cost of the hardware. I'm not sure that he's going to find any customers like that up in the woods of Northern Michigan, but who knows...
