...I think more and more of the population is going into advertising. Spam is the future. I can see it now. Guy has a few too many, gets into his car a pop-up ad appears on his windshield. As he drives along he swerves a few times and ads for driving schools pop up. Then he hits another car and gets a popup ad for dui lawyers. The guy in the other car is getting a popup ad for a personal injury lawyer. Not to be outdone the first drivers car gives him a popup for dui schools. Then both windshields simultaneously display an ad for a chiropractor specializing in accident cases. Such corruption will not be something robots can do. It's gonna be a wonderful world.

Liberals are like a "Slinky". Totally useless, but somehow ya can't help but smile when you see one tumble down a flight of stairs!

Unfortunately, it's probably inevitable.

The article says that by 2030, 73 million Americans will have been displaced from their jobs by automation. It mentions the need to re-train them - perhaps as robot repairmen.

I'm far more pessimistic. I think robots will be able to do robot repair. I think that through AI, they will be able to DESIGN themselves. I think they'll be able to do just about everything. About the only jobs that will remain for humans will be CORPORATION OWNER and POLITICIAN. Obviously, there won't be many of those.

Where does that leave humans? If they maintain their clout with government, they can collect Universal Basic Income from the corporations. But if they lose that clout - if government ceases to act in their interest or is no longer able to force corporations to pay - then most of humanity will starve.

It's not a very bright future, is it?
