Have they offered up any possibility of using ultrasound to break up the stones?

Thanks. I just hope I don't have what my brother has... and that this doesn't happen again too soon. And that getting the stones out - which could happen in one day or in two weeks - isn't too painful.

To some extent I posted the story so that those of you who have developed an impression of kidney stones from television shows and movies will see that it doesn't always go like that. My kidney stones aren't being ejected yet and are already extremely painful.

I asked a nurse what I should expect when they come out. "It'll feel like gravel," she said.
