As stated yesterday, our vacation got off to a bad start and we threw in the towel. We'll give it another shot on Monday with the minivan instead of the truck and will head straight to our friends' house in PA instead of going camping first.
Mapquest recommends a route I don't know but which goes closer to NYC than I like. NYC always seems to involve a lot of nasty traffic and . . . NEW YORKERS.
I'm considering deviating from it a bit and cutting over to Route 6, as shown below. That would let me cross the river at Peekskill instead of Tarrytown while only adding a little to the drive. It might also be scenic... who knows what's out that direction.
What do you guys think?
