Aw clo. Take solace in the knowledge that you've always had a poor understanding of things, and today is no exception. In short, you're wrong - most notably in thinking that the President is a cause, not a symptom. He is, without a doubt, the latter - a symptom for which YOU are the cause.
President Trump is a predictable result of the sheer nastiness the Left has exhibited, encouraged and celebrated since at least the 1960s - nastiness that has grown year-by-year, seemingly without boundary, fracturing the country in a million different ways, at an accelerating pace. The Left has successfully capitalized on its lack of a moral code, aware that the Right's behavior is self-regulating. There was always a line that the Right would not cross. Leftists learned to take advantage of that, crossing it daily to get their way.
There WAS such a line. It might not be there anymore. You see, clo, if you get a good person angry, the line moves. Get him sufficiently angry, he will eventually fight back. And woe unto you when he does, because then there are no holds barred. Leftist bullies have no stomach for targets who fight back.
You guys are utterly screwed. Not only is the Right fighting back, it has been toughened by decades of awful, abusive behavior by the Left. Consequently, the Left's tactics are no longer very effective. Moreover, the Left has become frustrated that the dirty tricks are failing and has doubled down, employing strategies that are SO outrageous, underhanded and brazen that only an idiot would not see them for what they are. You can say what you like about the Right, but we try to be adults, not idiots. We see the Left for what it is: Unruly children who kick, scream, bawl and LIE in order to get their way. The Right is finally acting like a parent and putting its foot down, especially as the children have grown past mere tantrums and moved on to truly criminal behavior. "ENOUGH."
Yep. You're in trouble. If what you've always done won't work anymore, what are you going to do? Not much. Your side has little conviction, few real causes and very little courage. You're just a bunch of babies.
So, have yourself that little cry. Blubbering always seems to make you feel batter. As you have your entire life, leave the problems to the adults.
About your other point:
