Realist - Everybody in America is soft, and hates conflict. The cure for this, both in politics and social life, is the same -- hardihood. Give them raw truth.

Re: "He is fracturing this country piece by piece. ... This morning I have a pit in my stomach, on the verge of tears."

Aw clo. Take solace in the knowledge that you've always had a poor understanding of things, and today is no exception. In short, you're wrong - most notably in thinking that the President is a cause, not a symptom. He is, without a doubt, the latter - a symptom for which YOU are the cause.

President Trump is a predictable result of the sheer nastiness the Left has exhibited, encouraged and celebrated since at least the 1960s - nastiness that has grown year-by-year, seemingly without boundary, fracturing the country in a million different ways, at an accelerating pace. The Left has successfully capitalized on its lack of a moral code, aware that the Right's behavior is self-regulating. There was always a line that the Right would not cross. Leftists learned to take advantage of that, crossing it daily to get their way.

There WAS such a line. It might not be there anymore. You see, clo, if you get a good person angry, the line moves. Get him sufficiently angry, he will eventually fight back. And woe unto you when he does, because then there are no holds barred. Leftist bullies have no stomach for targets who fight back.

You guys are utterly screwed. Not only is the Right fighting back, it has been toughened by decades of awful, abusive behavior by the Left. Consequently, the Left's tactics are no longer very effective. Moreover, the Left has become frustrated that the dirty tricks are failing and has doubled down, employing strategies that are SO outrageous, underhanded and brazen that only an idiot would not see them for what they are. You can say what you like about the Right, but we try to be adults, not idiots. We see the Left for what it is: Unruly children who kick, scream, bawl and LIE in order to get their way. The Right is finally acting like a parent and putting its foot down, especially as the children have grown past mere tantrums and moved on to truly criminal behavior. "ENOUGH."

Yep. You're in trouble. If what you've always done won't work anymore, what are you going to do? Not much. Your side has little conviction, few real causes and very little courage. You're just a bunch of babies.

So, have yourself that little cry. Blubbering always seems to make you feel batter. As you have your entire life, leave the problems to the adults.

About your other point:

Re: "Its like awaiting the death of a loved one, my country."

Now THAT is just a load of crap.

Tell us all, clo. In what year, do you think that the United States was an awesome country, one you truly cherished? Was it prior to 1865... the slave years? Prior to 1920, when women could not vote? Prior to 1940, when industrialization made the United States into a powerhouse? Prior to 1970, when the United States was wiping out tyranny throughout the world and helping it to rebuild? The '80s, when Reagan brought Russia to its knees? The '90s, when a rapist/sex criminal and consummate liar was in the White House? The 2000s? The 2010s? Today?

WHEN DID YOU EVER LOVE OUR COUNTRY?

The answer is that you never did. You loved fighting AGAINST the country and getting your way. You loved Globalism and hated Nationalism (which, by the way, means 'love of country.') You loved your fantasy of turning the country into some sort of socialist Eden, a la Europe, that would value you for doing nothing and take care of you always (though Europe is actually nothing like that.) That's what you're afraid is dying. Old and grey as you are, you know that your fantasy is toast. You'll never live to see it.

Until recently, you saw a United States that was moving rapidly away from its Constitution, ceasing to be a nation of Laws, morphing into something very different, seemingly without meaningful resistance by the hated Right - and that delighted you to no end. Now that your sick fantasy is disintegrating, you feel like you lost something real. LOL. You didn't. Thank God it was only a twisted dream.

If you can't even tell us which United States you loved, you can't very well expect us to sympathize. And you have NEVER expressed your love of country. Not once.
