BIG HORN MOUNTAIN - I couldn't think of it before.
Horrifying. The drive from Deadwood SD to WY is a nightmare, IMO. How I didn't drop dead from a heart attack right then and there still stymies me.

Here's a post I found:

Re: Route from Cody to Deadwood

Hello. You didn't say when in June you will be driving. That makes a difference. On both routes you will be driving over high mountain passes. A lot of snow falls on the Big Horn Mountains. In early June you will still have lots of snow along the highway, but the highways will be open. I would recommend you drive Highway 14 east from Greybull. Highway 14 is a better constructed road. You will drive through Shell Canyon and up Granite Pass. Granite Pass is a steep pull out of Shell Canyon. Both routes, either Shell Canyon east of Greybull or Ten Sleep Canyon east of Worland are scenic. Highway 16 east of Worland through Ten Sleep Canyon is more challenging. But for overall ease of travel, scenery, travel time, I would drive Highway 14. I have driven both routes too. Plus on Highway 14 you get to drive through Sheridan. Pull over and stop in historic downtown Sheridan

Anybody ever go to Denali in AK? If you haven't been there, don't go.

If you think education is expensive, try ignorance.
