watch out for the professor and his "research project"

I know more about this research project than I can post. It involves drones and radio in a way I don't understand, but, that is what research is all about. We don't know the professor, but we will get to know him before this goes too far.

If she really wants to go to grad school, it is very difficult to attend 20 years after being an under-grad. The sooner the better. However, some employers pay their new employees' tuition, so if that offer is on the table at one place, it might be worth it to consider.

I have made both of these points with her. I went to gradschool because nobody was hiring in 1975 and my schooloffered me a teaching assistantship. That is very hard to get as a returning student. But, the companies she is talking to are large companies who do support continuing education. But, it is still harder to take classes in the evenings than if she is full-time. But, many people wait to sehow their interests develop. Many parts to this decision.

Thank you for your interest,

nacl

It is hard to remember if I posted this before you became more active on this board or after.

Yes, I did have more pressing matters for a time. Now I need to LAUGH OUT LOUD, so I come here.

She is overwhelmed with the decisions she has to make. Grad school or the business world. We are offering her support but we won't tellher what she should do.

Understood - I get it. Ribit was trying to tell you before to watch out for the professor and his "research project" - he is wise in his advice.

You and Mrs. Nacl are to be commended for your daughter's achievements, and the wisdom to let her decide for herself.

I have a suggestion regarding her future, even though you didn't ask for it. If she really wants to go to grad school, it is very difficult to attend 20 years after being an under-grad. The sooner the better. However, some employers pay their new employees' tuition, so if that offer is on the table at one place, it might be worth it to consider that employer over another.
