I got two proxy vote cards for Campbells . . .
Seems something called tripoint (or some such) wants to replace the
current board of directors with their 'hired guns'. I don't like that
idea, so I voted to keep the current crop. Anyway, in the tripoint
proxy they pointed out how much more money I woulda made investing in
McCormick rather than Campbells . . . Oh so true. My spreadsheet tells
me MKC is currently worth more than twice what I paid to buy it. Campbells,
well, it's worth about 22% less than what I paid for it.
Since last weekend, McCormick went from $132.82 a share to $140.65.
Looks like an almost 6% increase for the week. And I've owned some
of my McCormick since 2006. MKC also likes to increase the
dividend by a healthy amount every year.
