Oh, thank you for the kind offer to one and all, but after talking to NACL this morning, I know I can't do it. Too bad you can't get a cousin to go with you

Now this sounds appealing:

Cabins, bunk houses, or camp sites at Phantom Ranch.

(omg)

I made that trek. Twice. North Rim to South Rim.

Hotel type accommodations at the Grand Canyon Lodge (North Rim.)

Cabins, bunk houses, or camp sites at Phantom Ranch.
(Along with a mess hall with breakfast and dinner.
Sack lunches are available.)

And all kinds of hotels and other facilities at the Grand Canyon Village - South Rim.

Oh yes, two bridges cross the Colorado River in the bottom. There is a very healthy bridge the mules use
to cross the river, and the 'swinging silver' bridge
for hikers.

Nice walk.
Zim.

P.S. Don't forget to bring lots of water, and drink all of it.
