Kind of reminds me of my first stock purchase.

T'was back in 1997 and I was thinking about buying
some Dominion Resources via their direct stock
purchase plan. Banks paying around three or four
percent . . .

Big D was looking at around 7% dividend yield. And I
thought it was too good to be true.

So I called the 800 number on the prospectus and the
nice lady on the phone said "Yep, that's how it works."

So I wrote a check for $2000 worth and bought. (Big for me.)
Possibly one of the best $2000 I ever invested.

(Better than 7% return every year for over twenty years.
And a large number of decent dividend increases.)

But, all too often a company paying out 10% or more
just frightens me. I saw some negative numbers in
their past 'retained earnings' and the little birdie
is chirping in the back of my ear "pass".
(Might be a mistake . . . but pass it is.)

Yup but they still paying over 10% right now, imagine when things turn around.........I'm being optimistic when I say that haaaaaaaaaaa
