No one in the Democratic party has ever done anything to me or any member of my family which I would consider as being something that would stop me from supporting their agenda. Me and my family have benefited from free public education as well as the infrastructure which allows this country to prosper and grow. My wife and I are receiving our Social Security each month and we are covered by Medicare, and while it is true that my immediate family has never had to depend on welfare, food stamps, public housing, Medicaid, etc, my wife and one of our sons did collect unemployment benefits once, but that was a long time ago.

Try thinking what it would be like to live WITHOUT the programs which have been championed by Democrats in this country. It would be pretty harsh for most people, which only a few benefiting from what America has to offer.

Out of curiosity, OCU, why do you stay a loyal Democrat given that the party clearly despises people like you? Does voting against your own interests validate your own deeply rooted beliefs about yourself?
