BREAKING: Pentagon sending 5,200 troops to the border amid Trump's condemnation of migrant caravan
President Donald Trump ordered the Pentagon to send the troops, about 5,200, to provide support to immigration officials if the caravan of Honduran migrants reaches the U.S. border. Trump has denounced the caravan and vowed to stop migrants and refugees from entering the United States.

The troop movement, dubbed "Operation Faithful Patriot," would be in position by the end of the week, just days before the midterm elections. Trump has made border protection a dominant theme in his political campaign to keep Republican control of Congress.
