zim, I apologize that I didn't see your post right away. I made cawfee, went outside to smell the roses (really!) and looked for my checkbook. I think I pretty much wasted another day.

I read about this, as I am obviously too young to have first-hand knowledge of this.

I did watch the movie, "Argo" about the take-over of our American embassy in IRAN. Oh, I just love those people, too. So, yes, they are STINKING.

Zim, I don't care for either country. If these two countries are technically at war with one another, I don't know who I would want to win. Maybe they should kill EACH OTHER off.

And then the Saudi's need U.S. more than we need them.
(Who do you think sold the Saudi's those patriot Missile
systems they are using to shoot down Iranian made ballistic
missiles being shot at them from Yemen?)
------------

Sure, they need us and so does everyone else, imo. The Middle East is one sick and demented place on this earth.
I know WE sold the Saudi's the patriot missile systems. They needed us for the missiles, our technology and our money.
Then they go and murder a Saudi journalist, working at the Washington Post.
----

Jamal Ahmad Khashoggi was a Saudi Arabian journalist, dissident, author, and a general manager and editor-in-chief of Al-Arab News Channel who was assassinated at the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul on 2 October 2018 by agents of the Saudi government. Wikipedia

===============

He moved to this country last year. I have posted previously that I needed to know WHY I am supposed to care about this. Until someone can convince me otherwise, I don't care.

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-45812399

As a prominent journalist, he covered major stories including the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and the rise of Osama Bin Laden for various Saudi news organisations.

For decades, he was close to the Saudi royal family and also served as an adviser to the government.

But he fell out of favour and went into self-imposed exile in the US last year. From there, he wrote a monthly column in the Washington Post in which he criticised the policies of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
=================

Both countries suck. PERIOD.
They're going to throw $450 billion at us.
I don't give a carp.
What's wrong is wrong, and THAT is wrong.
How about they start kissing up to us?

There is a very old Arabic saying . . "The enemy of my enemy is my friend".

I honestly did not know that was an old Arabic expression.

I thought it was from THE GODFATHER.

"Let's go to the mattresses."

Smile)) love you, zimblerzero

Kathy > Linda, the Saudis - they make me crazy. We treat them like family, but they are the black sheep of the family IMO and they can get stuffed, too.

The Donald does not want to alienate them.

Kathy,
The Saudi's are, technically, at war with the stinking Iranians.

There is a very old Arabic saying . . "The enemy of my enemy is my friend".

Zim.
