Kathy,

My view of the Saudis is totally negative. 9/11 was a joint op -- Iran and Saudi Arabia. And they are pushing the global jihad and the West is opening their doors to it. Except Trump, of course.

I'm just saying why Trump said he's not hassling the Saudis. But the main problem is the oil. We are ok here, but Europe and I think Japan are dependent on Saudi oil. They pump close to what we do and I think recently they were pumping 11 MBPD as a swing supplier with the concern of much of Iran's oil coming off the market. Take their oil off the market and the world's in big trouble. We have a deal with them on that from the WW II era. They could swing to Russia or China for arms and the oil goes with them. Splitting suppliers would be detrimental.

We can go so far and it seems we did by showing our extreme displeasure with MBS' actions, as did the rest of the world. I thought he'd be dead by now, at the hands of the princes that he incarcerated and took billions from. What they do, they will do. So far, the King is backing MBS.

I am told MBS is the lesser of the evils. I think he's very dangerous, actually, but am not an expert and can only say this is being said by experts. We do have a joint interest in Iran. So I consider them friends in name only. Classic "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" in action. If the mullahs go, I'm not so sure MBS will remain friends with us. MBS is also luring investments to Saudi Arabia. My view is they nationalized Aramco, they could nationalize anything in the future and the price of oil is going down, so they might be hurting, going forward and might be inclined to pull the plug on investors. A complex picture.

Another couple of trillion, that would be Trump's. Ouch. Well, we had no choice but to save the military and get high tech back on track before it totally went down the tubes. Obama should have been impeached early on.

starlight - unfortunately, I look at this and other world events differently than others. Right there, you should run and hide. I have very strong feelings about the Saudis and, for the most part, they are negative.
---------------

1) The Saudis are throwing something like $400 billion our way, which will go right into the economy. Obama doubled the national debt of all prior presidents, over 200 years worth. It's over $20 trillion. As we try and get rid of the deficit, interest rate hikes have increased national debt interest payments hugely, they're up to around $600 billion. Rates had to go up to stop the crazy companies from taking on more debt, but I agree with Trump, they've come too fast.

-----------

The National Debt can be reduced by cutting extraneous, unnecessary spending. About 6 months ago, I was spending at least $200 a week on food and restaurants. My circumstances changed and (( I )) had to reduce my expenditures by 3/4th's. If I have to do that, and every American has to do that, so does the government. I am infuriated that we have to make deals with the devil because we have no self-control in the upper echelon of our government. We have been telling them, STOP SPENDING.

Call me crazy, but I don't care about the Almighty Dollar. I CARE ABOUT 9/11. I care about beheadings. I care about genital mutilations. I care about human rights in an authoritarian government. I care about people who are condemned to silence. I care about a society that is so backwards that neither you, nor I, would even want to visit.

-------

Oh yes, Obamanure was a charmer and did, indeed, double the national debt in 8 years. The fish stinks from the head. And he was the head of Clinton, Clapper, Comey, Yates, Lerner, Sebelius. - I would have to look up the many others who are slime bags.

National Debt as of today is just about 2 trillion dollars more than you stated:

http://www.usgovernmentdebt.us/

We can get rid of the national debt very easily. FORK IT OVER:

Federal Debt per person is about $66,968.

2 )Trump's job #1 is to get the economy back after the Dems outsourced it

Ahhh, it was. But then the libtardos heard about a poll that put "health care" issues in first place. So, the Dems think they are going to fix it, when it was they WHO BROKE IT TO BEGIN WITH.
------------
" I personally heard from the horse's mouth! They knew moving mfg out would bring us down. -- treasonous intent" -

The Dems did this and nobody knows? If you heard it from a reliable source, what are they going to do about it? ASK THEM. I want to know. Treason is a very serious charge. It's even a serious allegation.
--------------
The middle class has been squeezed to the hilt; for example, 75% of adult kids are still living at home.

Yep, and if my mother were still alive, I would ask her if I could move in. I get it.

3) ROYALTY? No. Absolutely not. We don't have royalty in this country. We don't bow to kings and queens - they'd have to kill me first - but Obama bowed, didn't he. I put a very high price on our individualism, and I abhor anyone who thinks they are better than another. Saudi Arabia Monarchy, Absolute monarchy, Unitary state, Islamic state (wiki)

------------
4) Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Al Saud

Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia - I don't like him, either. I don't trust him, either.

5) The Wooing of Jared Kushner: How the Saudis Got a Friend in the White House.

http://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/08/world/middleeast/saudi-mbs-jared-kushner.html

Dec. 8, 2018

Senior American officials were worried. Since the early months of the Trump administration, Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law and Middle East adviser, had been having private, informal conversations with Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the favorite son of Saudi Arabia’s king.

Given Mr. Kushner’s political inexperience, the private exchanges could make him susceptible to Saudi manipulation, said three former senior American officials. In an effort to tighten practices at the White House, a new chief of staff tried to reimpose longstanding procedures stipulating that National Security Council staff members should participate in all calls with foreign leaders.

But even with the restrictions in place, Mr. Kushner, 37, and Prince Mohammed, 33, kept chatting, according to three former White House officials and two others briefed by the Saudi royal court. In fact, they said, the two men were on a first-name basis, calling each other Jared and Mohammed in text messages and phone calls.

The exchanges continued even after the Oct. 2 killing of Jamal Khashoggi, the Saudi journalist who was ambushed and dismembered by Saudi agents, according to two former senior American officials and the two people briefed by the Saudis.
------------

Show me what makes Jared the Middle East expert. Maybe because he's Jewish? Trump has made a grievous mistake by employing his daughter and son-in-law to any position in the administration. I know he values TRUST and he has gotten it already from those two, but I said from the beginning that they were not qualified.

I also find Trump's relationship with his daughter bizarre. "If she weren't my daughter, I'd be dating her?" STFU, Donald. Father-daughter relationships are profoundly close, and not in the way you mean them. You don't get a pass on this from me just because you have an "R" after your name.

Want to bet we don't get the 10% tax cut, since the Dems took the House?

No, I don't want to bet. The odds are not in my favor.

that the elites are trying to destroy the Middle Class.

For once, they are excelling. Rarity!

Two Centuries of Government Debt

---------------

We are all AMERICANS. This two-party system is a complete and utter failure. They root for their party, not their country.

I find that appalling.
