'Assisted Living' for two will eat up that million bucks surprisingly fast, especially down the road a little when healthcare prices have further skyrocketed

...my dad always said that two could live as cheap as one just half as long.

Re: "But, but, but, but ... OCU still lives there, right?! "
I wouldn't exactly call OCU rich. In fact, if his health were better, I'd have advised him to not retire when he did - almost 3 years ago to the day, if my memory serves me. January 20-something, wasn't it OCU?

Maybe he and Barbara plan to sell their house at some point - but I have news for them: 'Assisted Living' for two will eat up that million bucks surprisingly fast, especially down the road a little when healthcare prices have further skyrocketed.

Meanwhile, I think California housing prices are probably at a peak right about now. If he's ever interested in selling his little house, now might be the best time.
