De didn't ask me for my thoughts.

He and Mrs. De have gone over what they want/and don't want.

It's going to be a great house.

I am only thinking ahead 10 years, even if just for myself.

Wider doors
Flip doorknobs instead of the traditional rounded ones;
Light switches with low lighting in them.
At least one access to the house without steps.
Built-in seat in the shower

I am sure De has thought of these, but to me, they are important.


If you think education is expensive, try ignorance.

But there is always that slim chance you might be able to point out
something he didn't think of. So go ahead and type your thoughts.

I like the design. I forget what the basement layout looked like.
But, were it my house, I think I'd have two rooms - call them computer
rooms or offices or 'his and her junque rooms' - one for Mr. De and
one for Mrs De. And I think the basement might be a good place for
them and bedrooms two and three set up for guests (and or his son).

(That way if Mrs. De gets peeved with him he can sleep in the guest
room instead of outside with the dog. Mr. Green )
